A short day trip from Málaga in Southern Andalusia, you will find a hidden gem, Barranco Blanco, an area of outstanding natural beauty between Alhaurín El Grande and Coín. The name means ‘White Ravine’ and comes from the white limestone rocks covering the vegetation.
Barranco Blanco trail
This trail is one of Málaga’s most popular hikes. It offers epic views of the Alaminos river before you arrive at Barranco Blanco, almost the perfect waterfall, plunging down into a pool of clear water. It’s quite a popular hike and the experience is magical. We would avoid the crowds as our local mountain guides will lead you to the best places around. The trail ends in a refreshing waterfall located in the foothills of the mountains, the route crosses along the stretch of a river descending through the mountain ranges.
A refreshing trail in Málaga, after COVID lockdown is one of our half-day hiking tours. The trail is apparently currently closed due to COVID-19, as it appears in Google Maps, but it is not. In fact, we did this hike a couple of times in July and August.
