Benahavís hiking trail
Perfect for families, this river walk starts with a series of open pools, bridge by rocks and little waterfalls. After that, the rocky paths opens up into long, somehow deep stretches of stream that required swimming. Then you will be engulfed in the beautiful peaceful valley.
Different parts of the river have been adapted for hiking with the addition of a suspension bridge over the ‘Angosturas’ canyon, opening up the trail named ‘Acequia del Guadalmina’, an easy family walking route of around four kilometres (3 miles). This hike has waterfalls, cliffs, and scenery straight out of a green paradise. Given these points, it’s easy to understand how is a local’s favorite, and is good for all levels of hikers.

Estepona walking trail
Only a few inland from the concreted coastline we can enjoy a dip in the shallow waters of the Castor river, which flows from the foothills of the Sierra Bermeja mountain range above Estepona, for 12 km down to the coast.
This river walk enjoys a corridor of giant reeds mark the course of the river. Its banks are crammed with lemon, fig, medlar, banana and avocado trees and a scattering of low rise dwellings pepper the natural landscape, mainly belonging to those who farm the fertile land.
Although this is a rather rocky track and more of a challenging walk, it is perfectly doable wearing trainers and doesn’t require you to be kitted out in mountain climbing gear. This is our second example of the best river walks near Marbella

Istán rambling
As you can see, the walk it is a very easy one, suitable for all the family. However, bear in mind that the walk described is point to point, so it will be twice as long if you plan to walk back.
