You’ll approach the summit via a circular route into the River Mulhacén Valley, stopping for a celebratory lunch at the top (if the wind allows) before slowly descending via the western slope, passing wetlands and the Laguna de Caldera. Up the south ridge. Return via the west flank. A long but rewarding day. And that’s it! A 24km walk up and down without ever having crossed the same tracks twice. It will take you between 9 and 10 hours with nearly 1400m of ascent. Best to hike between July and September when it’s less chance of snow. Our local guide will share his knowledge about the park, its flora and fauna, as well as the area’s local history and wildlife.
